Mickey D’s, and I did it all, though not long enough to become a manager. It kinda kills me that most kids are now growing up with zero work experience by the time they’re adults.

Amusement ride operator (carousel, airplanes, Tilt-A-Whirl) at the local kiddy park, $1.75/hr. Knowing how to maximize vertigo-inducing spins on the ‘Whirl was a real chick magnet!

Mowing the lawn at my church for $60/ cut. Which in hindsight was a ton of money 25-30 years ago, for a 12 yr old.

When I was 7, mom married a man who owned a family construction company. And by family I mean we *all* worked construction. At 7 yo I was working for $1.50/hr, which was crap money even in 1979. Though Dad still argues that was my "market value."

14, grocery store stock boy. $3.25. All four years of HS, ended up opening, closing, cashiering...you name it I did it except for butchering meats and the deli. The other option was working on the local farm...which I also did for about $5/hr on/off..but the work often sucked.
