      Without the engine of American capitalism, the Soviet Union likely does not survive the Nazi onslaught of 1941-42.

          Had they not collaborated with Hitler, the war might not have ever started in the first place. The people of Poland, Denmark, Holland, Brussels, France, Norway and France were all subjugated by a Germany that was aided by the Soviet Union.

          I think they would have survived in any case - the Nazis basically lost any chance of winning the war in the fall of 1941 by not taking Moscow (and even then the Soviets would have fought on) before LL... 1/2

          They could and probably would have retreated towards the Ural and there would have been a war of attrition that would have continued for a long time.
