Vaccine passports are a bad idea sold badly, but in the unique setting of cruise ships - people cooped up together at length, hard to get sick people swiftly off the ship, history of shipboard outbreaks - the cruise lines should have the right to require proof of vaccination.

I get why governors who are trying to draw a line in the sand on this issue are staging a public fight with the cruise lines, but they really would be better served just exempting them from the no-vaccine-requirements laws.

Nope. Because hotels and other land-based resorts would also have to have the same exemption.
