    We should deficit finance infrastructure. Money is cheap, and the things being built last for 30 or 50 or 100 years, so it should be amortized over that period This “pay for” thing is nuts. You just shouldn’t pay cash for infrastructure in a low interest rate environment.

        There’s a good argument that real infrastructure should be paid for with bonds linked to the economic life of the project.         You seem to have missed the part where borrowed money needs to be paid back some day. Also, when you are trillions of dollars in debt, it's not like contracting a single fixed-rate mortgage. Debt is cumulative. But I guess they don't teach that on Reddit.
