And you also need to account for the international range of responses in recognizing what was possible. It's impossible to do so and still cling to a strong form of American anti-exceptionalism in its response.

Yep. It's one thing to argue that Trump left office with a bunch of things that collectively make the voters politically less likely to want to relive his presidency, but that is a very different argument from "this is actually his fault."
