I believe the shopping channels actually pay to be added to the bundle. So in an a la carte system, if they had a slightly negative price, they might end up no worse off than they are now.

Actually, it would probably hurt Fox’s bottom line more. They’d lose their high subsidized subscriber fees.

I called my cable company in the 90s and demanded to pay for only specific channels. I cancelled, and asked them to call me when they offer a la carte channels. They never called, and I have not had cable since.
