The complete absence of horrified reaction at the raid on Rudy Giuliani's apartment means that we've quietly abandoned four years of pretending there's a norm against federal investigations of the president's political opponents.

Nah, there was never any such norm. People just pretended there was while Trump was president.https://twitter.com/AimingHigher11/status/1387887224520327178 …

It would continue to be the norm if the former president’s comrades weren’t traitors and thieves. The complete absence of horrified reaction is due to the subsequent indictments that have been anticipated for the past few years. Anyone who is surprised has had their eyes closed. https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1387879468853866500 …

And Comey's original investigation of Hillary began under Obama. Face it, there was never such a norm.https://twitter.com/HeathMayo/status/1387883518143909889 …

This would be a halfway decent point if the investigation hadn’t been launched while Trump was still President... https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/investigation-rudy-giuliani/story?id=77377457 … I mean, this stuff is publicly available, Dan. https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1387879468853866500 …

So the independent judge that found probable cause to let the raid happen was also in the Left’s pocket? Enough of the conspiracies, man. Investigations don’t stop just because the opposite party wins an election.

My point is that Investigations don’t stop just because the opposite party wins an election, yet people argued under Trump that they must.

Investigations of political opponents have the obvious risk of being politically motivated sham investigations. Hot take: some are and some aren't. Let facts and law guide that decision of what are and what aren't sham investigations.

I think the most corrupt stuff under Trump was what the AG and DOJ decided NOT to prosecute, not what he did prosecute.

Trump routinely and publicly asked Barr to go after Biden, in the absence of any independent investigation. He wanted to LAUNCH it. That was the problem. To pretend to not see that glaring and obvious difference here shows too many of your cards.

Really? Who? Who ever said that legitimate investigations initiated by career professionals must stop if the subject of the investigation is a political opponent of the sitting president?
