Sounds like the trend is to find any means possible to vilify immigrants.
Which they will as soon as Hispanic is considered another variation of 'white'.
Perhaps but it’s worth noting that that never happened among Jewish Americans as a national trend—who remain strongly Democrat as a demographic. So not all groups make this transition.
Smaller groups still maintain loyalty to the Democrat Party--Greeks, Polish, etc. Larger groups such as the Irish and Italians assimilated better.
Another way of thinking about it is that Democrats are pro-immigrant fully knowing that immigrants could very well vote Republican in future elections. Almost as if it's not about the votes at all.

So, if your statement holds in the future, the more successful the Dem’s are in their twin drives for immigrants and “equity,” the more future GOP voters they will create.
I would say you're mostly right. Had there been a normal GOP and not what the GOP has become the trend might continue.
