It's bizarrely disconnected from reality to ask why Georgia would think there is any need to revise its voting laws after two consecutive cycles in which a statewide top-of-the-ticket candidate - one from each party - refused to acknowledge the legitimacy of a Georgia election.

When a law passes on a party-line vote, *and* said party has been famously in the iron-fisted grasp of one person and his particular view of "reality," it's more than fair to assume that the members of that party roughly share the same intent.

They actually laid out a whole list of reasons why they felt it necessary *within the law itself*. Section 2. It's not that hard to read it. People might find those justifications unconvincing, but you can't simply ignore the text and then claim there's no conceivable reason.

A sampling of some of the reasons they stated: - more certainty in the face of 2020 court challenges - standardizing rules and funding across all counties - reducing the burden on election officials - providing a process to address problems in local precincts (long lines, etc.)
