The one way in which Georgia in 2021 resembles Jim Crow era Georgia is having two Democratic Senators.

Yeah Dan now the Democrats aren't the party trying to reduce black voting rights and representation. @RadioFreeTom

As you well know, the GOP voting laws & proposals aren't doing that. Democrats have not changed their m.o., they're just selling racial divisions & resentments to a different audience. And in the process insultingly minimizing what Jim Crow actually was.

Republican state governments make it hard for black voters to vote - long lines, not enough polling stations, etc. You have to be a real partisan not to see this. You seem like a good guy - consider the alternative way of seeing things. You don't have to be on Ben Shapiro's team.

Except if you were paying attention, you'd know that the Georgia bill takes affirmative steps to *reduce* lines caused by bad local government in Georgia. But knowing that would require reading the billhttps://www.nationalreview.com/2021/03/joe-biden-botches-the-georgia-voting-law/ …

Can't overlook the fact this is based on a mistaken belief, based on a world-historical LIE, put forth by the former guy & supported by right wing media like National Review, that the last election was flawed or questionable in some way & these reforms were needed. They're NOT

One question: If Trump had won Georgia and Warnock and Ossoff had lost, do you really think this bill would have been written at all? I think not, and if I am right and this was a response to GOP losses, then that tells you everything you need to know about this bill.

Yes, making it difficult to jump through all the hoops , especially for poor people, working people that can't afford to lose the hours required for hoop jumping, tends to make the lines shorter. But they did say a polling official can offer you water, if they have the time.

Apparently @RadioFreeTom doesn't understand that voting in GA is controlled by the counties. So the fact that my local lines were short and efficient have nothing to do with the shitshow that was Fulton County. Maybe elect more effective local politicians?
