While there’s a difference legally between killing and murdering, he did kill him. That is in indisputable. Although you can make a case 2nd degree and lower charges amount to “killing” (minus determining intent) and therefore the trial is unnecessary in theory.

I maintain the prosecution should have simply shown the video, where the officer killed him, which satisfies the statues charged, and rested. The more the state talks, the more confused the jury will be. The entire defense case should be to disprove the 9 minutes of video.
