Note: this is in response to my proposal that we open more polling places in black precincts & ban states from considering race in drawing Congressional districts. At least these responses are open about refusing to ever support anything that isn't passed on a D party line vote.https://twitter.com/queerBengali/status/1372282573167202304 …

This is how these folks respond to radical ideas like "you should have to register before you can vote." When you get outside the left-Twitter echo chamber, many commonsense GOP proposals on elementary things like ID have anywhere from 60%-80% popular support.https://twitter.com/jaywillis/status/1372284837357252612 …

Jay WillisVerified account @jaywillisInane shit like this is just more proof that there is no common ground with a party acting in bad faith to entrench minoritarian rule. You can't "negotiate" with Republicans on voting rights, because Republicans oppose voting rights. You have to beat them. https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1372278567355219969?s=20 …Show this thread5 replies 12 retweets 51 likesShow this thread -
Republicans across the country have all sorts of ideas about voting & elections rules. Some of those ideas are already uncontroversially in practice in many states. Others are terrible ideas! But that's a reason to prefer the good ideas over the bad ones.

I've laid out in detail my own views on election best practices. Long experience, however, has illustrated the absolute refusal of progressives to deal with election issues in anything but the most hyperbolic & dishonest fashionhttps://www.nationalreview.com/magazine/2021/03/22/how-to-secure-elections/ …

I just read this piece at lunch today. Excellent work! Balanced, fairminded, thorough. Which of course means the Left will call it racist.
