This is how these folks respond to radical ideas like "you should have to register before you can vote." When you get outside the left-Twitter echo chamber, many commonsense GOP proposals on elementary things like ID have anywhere from 60%-80% popular support.https://twitter.com/jaywillis/status/1372284837357252612 …

Republicans across the country have all sorts of ideas about voting & elections rules. Some of those ideas are already uncontroversially in practice in many states. Others are terrible ideas! But that's a reason to prefer the good ideas over the bad ones.

I've laid out in detail my own views on election best practices. Long experience, however, has illustrated the absolute refusal of progressives to deal with election issues in anything but the most hyperbolic & dishonest fashionhttps://www.nationalreview.com/magazine/2021/03/22/how-to-secure-elections/ …

How about no-excuse vote by mail? Would you support that on top of what you've proposed?

You should support putting more polling places anyway, but a ban on VRA districts combined with no ban on partisan gerrymandering just dilutes those votes at all but the state level.

your proposal would be a start if it were serious... yet you know very well it’s dead on arrival in every GOP controlled legislature and a Senate that requires 60 votes... the party you cheerlead for never really existed as you like to present it and it certainly doesn’t now...

The positions taken by democrats on voting and immigration are so absurd there impervious to satire. They should be satire, but they’re not.

Many of the responses are "but 70% like the bill." Sure they do, when the whole media message about the bill is "The evil GOP disagrees with this wonderful bill."
