is it bothersome to be this insufferable?pic.twitter.com/D1P36ZpL11

Conservatives were only against "cancel culture" as such when it was turned against them. I grew up in an age when Conservatives threatened musicians, artists, actors, etc. with cancelation when they crossed their boundaries, e.g.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixie_Chicks_controversy …
I don't think this adequately grappled with one reality: many of the people wailing about cancel culture will defend people not on classical liberalism grounds, but because the person they are defending said things that upset people they don't like (i.e., to own the libs) [1/2]pic.twitter.com/11KBqXGZPd
You don't see any classical liberalism when those same people try to get professors fired for expression that offends conservatives or in other permutations of conservative cancelation. Maybe some act in good faith, but by and large it's just another partisan weapon. [2/2]
I would benefit from an article like this defining populism. Populism can be emotion based, reactionary based on economics or morality issues. Historically, it's a catch all term. I can envision different groups on the right it might apply to.
