Maybe, but there's a collision course coming on this stuff where you have the hardliners who want to maintain a more fundamental set of standards vs the more progressive members who don't view it as literally true, but morally good.

And then there's 2 Tim. 3:16-17: All Scripture is breathed out by God & profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, & for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. Plus, Paul was God's man--road to Damascus & all.

OK I thought that's what you meant. I guess for me this is where I historically just can't agree. It could be inspired by Jesus' teachings, but of course Paul is going to implement what he thinks is best within the teachings. It's the reasons we have 4 Gospels w/ contradictions.
