On the latter bit, they're probably using remote content that allows them to change the body after the email has been sent, including fixing typos. But subject is set in stone once the send button is clicked.

In Constant Contact (and other services) you type in the subhead (the snippet you see there) in addition to the subject line, so it’s likely a typo in that input. I have no explanation for #1.
