It's about a guy who revealed a giant cancer in the GOP, and who acted as a test of character failed by millions. I have said - just a few days ago here - that the left has a totalitarian streak. But that notional threat pales next to the *demonstrated damage* of the GOP.

But to go back to the point, Dan, arguing that the Bulwark guys are unprincipled and obsessed with NR - when NR has become kind of obsessive and morally unmoored itself - is really a gutsy take.

Republicans had five years to restore the full filibuster and did nothing about it and in fact destroyed it more, then blamed Democrats for their own actions. Now they are up in arms when Democrats try it again. This is not a one-way street.

I was wrong, it was six years. To the direct point, you're right about the degrading of constitutional order but Republicans don't seem to care. They had the same amount of time to take back things like tariff powers and did nothing, and not one word against Trump's tariff moves.

There’s no comparison. Republicans are trying to undermine our democracy, while Democrats have some policies you don’t like.
