As usual with tribal appeals of this nature, observe the complete & total absence of discussion of (1) government policy on any issue or (2) Democrats' approach to constitutional governance, civil liberties, or other crucial elements of the classical-liberal order.https://twitter.com/Timodc/status/1363981287598354432 …

That’s what I would have thought until Trump came along. His disregard for the rule of law took it to a whole new level, and GOP failure to recognize this is likely what will alienate me from the party for some time to come.
-
There's no reason to let Trump change anyone's opinion of the Democrats. If anything, they're using him as an excuse to get worse.

Honestly, maybe there are not many people like me (although I see a handful responding to you here) — but speaking for myself: if the GOP wants my vote, it has to wake up and figure out how it alienated me. Demonizing the left ain’t gonna cut it for me any more.

That's some real Trumpian conservatism shit.

Re-reading this thread: to be clear, I was not responding to your absolute view of the Democrats but your implicit assertion that their history makes them worse then Republicans while under the sway of the cult leader.
-
My argument all along is that Trump is individually bad, Democrats are institutionally bad. Republicans' problem is fixable by removing one man. Democrats' is not. It's who they are.
