Perot was a nationalist but he was not a progressive. Trump economics are national progressivism. TR loved to spend, and so did DJT. Roosevelt’s deficits were much smaller than Wilson’s, but they sure weren’t the surpluses of Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover.
