Using Utah to compare to anything else is just nonsensical. It's a different world and Romney has a stature few other Senators could rival. Sasse is a much more interesting figure for this. And he definitely kept quiet for a little while just until he secured the GOP nomination.

I dont particularly think he's long for DC, but nor necessarily because of Trump. He's too honest and decent for politics and I'm not sure he has long-term political ambitions anyway.
