Both he & Castro were physically painful to listen to.

Tonally, I can be convinced. In substance, I did not share that impression.

Yeah not sure the specific complaint here. He went out of his way in the speech to effectively let all the R’s who voted with Trump on the election results off the hook, which is pretty remarkable considering some elected D’s actively want them expelled.

If you'll permit me a partisan flourish, it's pretty remarkable given that we're talking about Eric Swalwell.

Yes, he's not normally the one you roll out as the good cop to say Sherrod Brown's bad cop

But to be more specific, the most notable outside sources they've cited include: A bunch of FedSoc scholars, Liz Cheney and Ben Sasse, GA's Republican election officials, etc. Not really obvious D partisan sources or arguments they're hanging this on.

Still should have had an R manager, or given Kinzinger extended time during the vote. Given how much reliance they're placing on Republican testimony.

They passed it up with Amash the first time too. Have any of the 10 yes votes said they would have joined though?

I could also see how, not unreasonably based on the last 4 weeks, they'd be wary of naming a manager who would be fired up to start and lose their nerve or pick fights over various process complaints as the date approaches

They might have avoided a lead manager who objected to counting Trump's electors in 2017.

Like I said, I get the complaints about some of the managers backgrounds! But they’re making the argument almost entirely in R territory as far as I can tell

But you don't have to take my word for it, the most concrete sign is how many near-certain "no" votes were going on about how great the D presentation was yesterday and how lousy the defense was!
