Who did you vote for best D option?

Roosevelt. And it’s not close. Roosevelt is one of the 2-3 greatest presidents ever. He diagnosed the danger & appeal of dictatorship, & refused to go that path, he recognized the dangers of fascism & moved as much as he could to take it on, the New Deal high points, etc.

My rationale for Ike: interstate highways, Little Rock, beating back the Bricker Amendment, correctly diagnosing and trying to hold off the military industrial complex. He gets demerits for the Iranian coup & for not taking on McCarthy more frontally.

Oh good lord, DM. The worst Grant had to deal with was the Klan, some corrupt bureaucrats, and the plains Indians. Ike kept Stalin at bay without a war, ended Korea, and kept us away from Dien Bien Phu, while sparking the interstate highway system and a full employment economy

Nuts. Reconstruction was a failure, so Grant’s legacy didn’t last. The I-system built the foundation of the modern economy.
