Yep. There is a serious moral argument for & against John Brown's raid. Ditto Athens (still mean to read Chris DeRose's new book on that). If every word of Trump's 1/6 speech was the truth, you could make that same case.

Yes, I agree with that. It would still be doomed (as Harpers Ferry was) because of a lack of armed might—so the state crushed it—, but sure: if a massive plot involving countless election officials, state politicians, and state and federal judges to steal the election....

As I noted before, Comet Pizza guy legit believed when he showed up with a gun there that he was saving children. Really sad. And FWIW, I have always considered the John Brown raid justified, but also sets a really high bar for when such mob action is justified.
