Can we win without the support of the 60 million people who voted for Mitt Romney? People move on.

What happens if Trump doesn’t run in 2024? Do we want him speaking at the convention? Absolutely. Having Republicans vote to convict him makes that damn awkward.

How many past GOP nominees spoke at the last 2 conventions? Trump at the 2024 RNC means we're relitigating the Capitol riot & "rigged election." Plus he'll demand the nominee debase him/herself w/obeisance & demands to get his endorsement.

I know you don’t like it but he is by far the most popular Republican, GOP voters haven’t had a relationship to a president like this since Reagan. And he demographically grows the party.

But the goal of a convention is not to speak to the people who will vote for even a losing GOP ticket. It's to win the people whose abandonment of the party caused you to lose in 2020.

I’m extremely dubious that suburban white women are coming back. I’d far rather take my chances with minorities and the working class.

Well, if we replay the 2020 election with the same votes on each side, who wins?

I’d say a lot of that depends on Biden’s performance. But why can’t more outreach to traditionally Democratic demographics be made between now and then as well?

That depends. Is the message "Donald Trump" or is it something else? Because if you lead with Trump, you keep the D base fired up to 2020 levels forever & start by imposing a ceiling on yourself.

It’s populism, it’s America first. How do you expect Biden’s immigration policies to work out?

Very well for Democrats, if they can keep attention focused on the person of Donald J. Trump instead of on the issues.

And when he’s putting kids in cages? Not everything is about Trump

If Trump is in the limelight, if Trump is at the convention, if the nominee must bend the knee to sing the praises of Trump, if Senators must fear to speak the truth to mollify Trump, then it's still about Trump. The one & only salvation of Democrats is to keep it about Trump.
