I’d recommend the libertarian party but no thanks

Yeah the “interest in governing” bit is a challenge there

Dan Crenshaw proudly supports Red Flags. He belongs on the other side of the aisle, and we have to push him there because his self-image sees him on the wrong side, we will. And the same goes to anyone without the spine to place actually good governance over merely "governing".

You’ve just described the post-Trump GOP.

Dan is pretty squishy though. He often falls into the "we have to do something" line of thinking and supports things like jail break, red flag guns laws, increased unchecked immigration, etc.

The party doesn’t need another “Maverick.” I’m all for realism and moderation. Like McCain before him Crenshaw crosses over often into contrarianism for the sake of self-aggrandizement. He likes getting praise from the media and the Democrats as being one of the “Good ones.”

I've always found the McCain-Crenshaw comparison to be a strawman in most scenarios. John McCain single-handedly rescued Obamacare, most likely to just spite Trump

I stopped taking him seriously when he went after Pence for basically refusing to be an authoritarian last week
