This isn't right. He said "Antifa is an idea" in the fall. His first comments were the speech in early June: "There is no place for violence. No place for looting or destroying property or burning churches, or destroying businesses — many of them built by people of color."

Even earlier, on May 31: "Protesting such brutality is right and necessary....But burning down communities and needless destruction is not. Violence that endangers lives is not. Violence that guts and shutters businesses that serve the community is not." https://medium.com/@JoeBiden/we-are-a-nation-furious-at-injustice-9dcffd81978f …

You’re right that “the national party” didn’t endorse it, no. Liberal opinion did. And the party seemed to do a massive course correct to talk about the riots after their convention.

What is "liberal opinion"? Some dumbass Vox articles? If that was representative of the party, Biden would never have been the nominee.

Biden was exceptionally careful to never suggest that anyone - individuals, groups, movements - on his own side had done anything at all wrong.

This is similarly an argument in favor of Trump's oft-commented care to avoid denouncing certain segments of the alt-Right.
