Is it even possible for the Senate to take action after a person has already left office?

If the view is to prevent Trump from running in 2024, then does it lead down a slippery slope? Could Congress “pre-emotively” impeach someone to prevent holding office in the first place?

Perhaps you can tell me how you go about impeaching someone who is no longer in the office you are trying to impeach them from?

Look up what impeachment means. It isn’t just removal from office. Also it provides the ability to bar Trump from future office.

If the Democrats think that it can wait then the country might shrug its shoulders. The next mob, whoever they’ll be, might feel empowered to act against anyone or any place. They’ll actually have some official reason to feel that way.

Are you implying that the delays preceding the Senate receiving the notice of the last impeachment had absolutely one iota of impact on the outcome in the Senate? Because it sure sounds like it, & that is patently absurd.
