2. I was disappointed in the album, disliked some of its transitional conceits, lost my copy with my Trade Center Office & never replaced it, so my memory was "meh," but I instantly recalled songs like Type, Pride, & Love Rears Up Its Ugly Head that I hadn't heard in years.

3. Looking back now, listen to Type from 4:10 on. I had no way of knowing this then, but: that's a Pearl Jam song. That coda would fit perfectly if you dropped it into Ten.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1HbF3EAt3ck …

4. You can't tell me Pearl Jam wasn't listening to that album. Ten came out a year later.

5. OTOH, thing that I've known for years: Open Letter (to a Landlord), which rocks, may be left-wing economics in its intended message, but it also has some deep small-c conservatism about the rootedness of people in place that would not be out of place at a MAGA rally.

Exactly where I was/am - except I loved Time's Up from first listen, beginning to end. "This Is the Life" has always resonated deeply with me. "Type," "Pride," and "Love Rears up its Ugly Head" are also favorites.

I think all three of us agree: You can skip Collideoscope and save yourself 45 min or so. (Though “Flying” and “Song Without Sin” are actually pretty decent.)
