I like this new line of defense: “Saying what we all know to be true would accomplish nothing.” As if the GOP has no principled or even practical reason to stand against this as a group. Remember when every GOP elected official insisted Obama use the phrase “Islamic terrorist”?

The key point here is that Trump will be out of office two weeks after the winner of this race is sworn in, & the question is solely about something that won't happen. Very different from a president's ongoing national security policy.
