Neil Young's HARVEST is actually the *worst* album of his '70s career (well, outside of AMERICAN STARS & BARS, but that's a bizarre pseudo-comp). I don't mean it as a backhanded compliment either, as in "because they're all so great!" I mean that it's dull as dishwater. Snooze.
I confess that I know quite a few Neil Young songs (including the 2 'hits' on Comes a Time) but the only albums I've listened to end to end are Harvest, Live Rust, Freedom, Mirrorball, & Americana. It will not surprise you that Live Rust is my favorite by far.

Give it time to fully develop. It's one of his best-ever songs:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ys22VBr1E3Q …

That’s absolutely one of his best songs ever, but what else do you think is great on that album?
