I'm watching "Vertigo," which I haven't seen for a couple of years. WHAT a movie! If the opening sequence doesn't nail you, you're not nailable—and James Stewart gives the performance of a lifetime.

A friend of mine once took Hilary and me on a "Vertigo" tour of San Francisco. It was enormous fun. (She was the organist in the church where Kim Novak goes to look at Carlotta Valdez' grave.)

That film is entrancing. Almost literally. Stewart, Novak, Bel Geddes all so captivating. The greatest Hitchcock.
