Impartial administration of justice is a greatly important norm, but it remains secondary to the ultimate accountability of law enforcement to the voters.

If you want to get Trump for essentially political offenses in office, either impeach him (tried, failed) or vote him out of office (tried, succeeded). We don't prosecute outgoing leaders here over their official acts, & bar to start doing so should be VERY high.

My argument against the John Edwards prosecution - much as I emotionally enjoyed it - was that you should not prosecute your opponents under legal theories you wouldn't want used against your friends.

It is not Biden's DOJ that Trump needs to worry about. It is the AG for the State of New York.

Not if a deal similar to Bill Clinton's is reached. Clinton was absolved of crimes committed by paying $25,000 and losing his law license. President leaving office will not be arrested or charged.

And if SDNY or NY AG just follows through on existing investigations, leading to prosecutions? IMO That would be the best possible outcome.
