It would be very ugly & a dangerous precedent for the new Administration to launch criminal prosecutions of its opponents - something "Lock Her Up" Trump never did. A state prosecution for clearly-defined pre-presidential crimes would be a different animal.https://twitter.com/asymmetricinfo/status/1324147818433548288 …

I don't think anyone who played footsie with defending the Trump administration has any standing to call the opposition's government a "banana republic."

We are banana republic because the current administration openly shielded or attempted to shield political supporters from the law.

Trump and his siblings launched a scheme using a shell company to launder their inheritance and avoid paying estate taxes. Additionally, Trump has been changing the valuation of his assets on his tax returns vs loan applications. That is real, easily understood crime.

Republicans: If a looter smashes into a Best Buy and steals an iPad, they need to go to jail!! Also Republicans: The theft of millions of dollars a year for decades through fraud, deceit, and tax evasion are not real crimes, let it go.

I agree. Michael Cohen was an ordinary citizen prosecuted for campaign finance violations ordered by Trump. You can disagree with that prosecution, but prosecuting Trump would hardly be more outrageous. They're both just people.
