This is a good idea & states should adopt it - it's how Florida does it. Maybe now, some state legislatures will understand why. I'm skeptical of a federal mandate, however.https://twitter.com/byamberphillips/status/1326169850834792454 …

Sen Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), a speculated 2024 candidate, introduces a bill that in part calls for election officials to count mail ballots as they come in. That's exactly what secretaries of state in these swing states wanted to happen, but were blocked by GOP legislatures

Hawley has a disturbing tendency to think the way Democrats do: if this sounds good, the federal government should do it, regardless of whether it's the federal government's proper job.

Which is also good. I'm not in favor of publicly releasing vote data while voting is still going on. https://twitter.com/aeknipe/status/1326180394031575042 …

Releasing vote data while the voting is going on has a problem similar to extended early voting: people voting based on different information. It additionally allows psyop efforts to talk people into thinking one side has won.

My half-baked election idea: To increase turnout spread election day across 3-4 days. But report results as they are tabulated in real time. That way each side sees if they're losing, freaks out and rushes out to vote or push other people to go vote.

Ohio does exactly what Florida does. They process and scan the early ballots, but they do not pull the data from the machines until Election Day. That's why Ohio's initial results looked so blue. It was the opposite of the sequence from Pennsylvania.

I think all counties should send their data to the state at the same time. None of this "let's see how many votes we need to manufacture" stuff.
