Fascinating is not the word I would use.

So was 2016 a fluke or was it just Trump hurting himself? Are there really fractures in the blue wall where a more disciplined Republican can win them again in 4-8 years? Then again I don't see anyone getting excited for Larry Hogan or Charlie Baker if they run.

I live in that deep orange of Utah. And I did last time. I voted against Trump in 16 but in my view he kept a lot of promises as best he could. He's been FAR more conservative than we believed. A LOT of californians have moved in and they're a big factor in what is blue

Not just a lot of blue in Michigan, but it's completely inverted; the blue parts are Michigan's traditionally conservative rural areas, whereas the reliably Democratic Detroit–Ann Arbor area looks mostly orange. What's up with that?

Higher voting for Trump over the house candidate. Which makes some sense in traditional D locations. Trump had appeal they didn't across normal party lines

I'm not quite believing this. Why are there sharp state boundaries? Compare Minnesota, N Dakota, and Montana. Why are there marked differences in populations only 20 or 50 miles apart? Look at how Maine stands out, or W Virginia. Something's funny.
