I confess I have some biases about elections that go beyond partisanship. I hate extended early voting, slow vote counts, runoffs, recounts, jungle primaries & ranked-choice voting. Have everybody vote at once between two choices. Count the votes. Declare a winner. Move on.

My practical position, as opposed to my bias, is that early voting should start on Saturday, maybe Friday. Most anybody who gets any days off at all a week can vote 1 of the 4 days from Saturday to Tuesday.https://twitter.com/sohri/status/1325490686926446592 …

I was actually sold on crank’s position on extended early voting this year when ACB’s hearings/nom was going on as people were voting. It was odd. But the idea that 150 million people all have to vote on a Tuesday is silly, outdated and quite obviously suboptimal. We can fix it. https://twitter.com/baseballcrank/status/1325483419573374980 …

Early voting worked great in Texas this cycle.

We had 6 weeks of early voting in Virginia. That’s insane. There’s no need for that. Another option is having voting times longer into the night. 24 hours on a day.

I spent my career in a job that often had me away from home for weeks at a time. Absentee/mail in voting was the only way I could be sure to be able to vote.

Sure, and that's why we have absentee.

I could live with Monday through the following Tuesday (election day) then everyone has 8 days to vote. I think one day is still best though

I’m a big fan of early voting. I haven’t voted on Election Day in years due to unpredictable travel schedule.

I hear there is a conspiracy therapy that Republican legislators made the absentee and mail in votes to be counted later make it appear trump won and help the idea of those votes being illegitimate. Any credence to that?
