Before Biden, we've had 14 vice presidents become president. Just five of them assumed the presidency by election. Only one, Thomas Jefferson, served 8 full years as president. To do that, Biden would need to serve until age 86.

In the 2-party era (post 1856) only GHWB managed to win while serving as VP. Nixon & Gore both failed. Mondale failed after a 4 yr break.
