Somebody ask her about expanding the House, which actually *is* supposed to expand with the population but hasn't in a century.https://twitter.com/RichLowry/status/1320913054662594563 …

Nancy Pelosi suggesting we may need to expand the Supreme Court to account for the growth in U.S. population since the mid-19th century is completely hilarious https://twitter.com/chrisjdmartin/status/1320886334412771330 …

Expanding the House would be a good move & not necessarily benefit either party (I think it might very modestly benefit Democrats). But the people it hurts are current House incumbents, so Pelosi is not gonna support it.

But Progressives support expanding the House?

If the House were expanded to 2,000 members Republicans would never win again.

What's the point if the GOP will just freely gerrymander new districts to be more of their own?pic.twitter.com/SqWTo6LZeQ

Why not show Maryland’s blatant gerrymandering? Because it’s the other party doing it?

Worth considering. Double the House to 870, better make it 871 to prevent ties. Limit them to 6 terms. End Congress' exemptions from the laws they put over us. Keep SCOTUS at 9, and Repeal the 17th amendment to return the election of Senators (2/state) to State Legislatures.

Expanding the house would be a great idea, especially because it would reduce the electoral college's current right-wing lean. We should expand both the house and the court! Break the grip of minority rule and shake up the country's sclerotic, dysfunctional institutions.

Expand it to be the size of the cube root of the population of the United States at the most recent census. Round up if necessary to always ensure an odd number of representatives. As of the most recent estimates for the 2020 Census, that puts the number at 691 representatives

Let's double or even triple the number of House members, but let's also cut the size of the staff in half (at least) and make them share office space with each other. So maybe three House members from NYC all share one office, as do the reps from MT, ND, and SD.
