The Dems are being disingenuous about all of this. But I think they’re right to doubt McConnell wins a floor vote on Garland.

A floor vote in the negative would put to rest all of the arguments that Mitch is now a hypocrite.

Garland was treated more respectfully than virtually any rejected nominee in the history of the Senate. Neither his character nor his record were targeted. He faced no personal attacks and was spared the indignity of being voted down. What he got was merciful compared to Bork.

Such a silly take...and an excuse for the cowards' way out. If a majority decided, they should have voted on it. Put it on the record and have some conviction.

So dishonest...blocking Garland was unpopular and would have been a difficult vote for several R senators to cast. Unclear how it would have gone on the floor, which is why McConnell and Grassley didn't let it get there. Do you assume your audience has retrograde amnesia?

Just doesn't care. The M.O. of the modern Republican voter and supporter has become deny reality. Facts are what power says they are. Legitimately believing 2+2=5 if Trump makes it so.

Lmao. There wasn’t a floor vote because he would have seemed qualified and confirmed. You know that.
