Better yet, why do they write laws so poorly as to avoid political blowback specifically to have judges be the bad guys and clarify their legislation? That's what they want. It's not what the job is, though.

Maybe the problem is that our legislators and judges are often the same people. More than half of Congress are lawyers. So is Pence. And Biden. And Harris.
You might be confusing "law" text with Constitution text, but the latter is transcended anyway because of 9A.
