Another legend gone, not long after his longtime teammate Lou Brock. RIP to one of the game's most ferocious competitors.https://twitter.com/BSmile/status/1312226076576436225 …

The most Bob Gibson story, from 1968: he beaned Tommie Agee with the first pitch of the first game of spring training. Ruined Agee's season. Gibson backed down for nobody.

Gibson also beaned an on deck hitter at least once because he was getting too close to the plate. He also hated all star games because he didn’t want to be nice to the guys he had to play in the regular season. But to his team and the fans, he was one of the nicest guys around.

My first baseball memory when I was a 6-year-old Cards fan, Gibson's shutout in the '64 series, his home runs in the '67, and the '68 series. Thanks for the greatest childhood memories ever Bob Gibson.
