Precisely why Republican voters have been so frustrated with the Court not going their way more often.https://twitter.com/jacklgoldsmith/status/1308409116499603458 …

Amazing (to me) fact: If Trump wins confirmation for new nominee, Republican presidents will have chosen 15/19 Justices since Earl Warren retired in 1968. The four Democratic appointees: Ginsburg, Breyer, Kagan, Sotomayor. (Rehnquist not counted twice). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_justices_of_the_Supreme_Court_of_the_United_States …

Of course, Warren was also a GOP nominee! The GOP was covering itself in shame in the Eisenhower era also...

It's almost like they put ideology aside and adjudicate the law...which is what they are supposed to do. Not their fault that Republicans tend to have unconstitutional ideas...like preventing gay people from marrying.

No, that's not unconstitutional. What's unconstitutional is to not let the states' voters decide for themselves on gay marriage and other issues. The Libs are who usually have no judicial restraint and make the law look as they want.

That's because Republican voters have supported policies that are inconsistent with the Constitution, law, and precedent, dude. That's exactly what these SCOTUS decisions have been documenting. Hello?

And thus I think it’s fair to say that republican-nominated jurists to the high court have at least been fair-minded (though I disagree strongly with a few of the decisions you allude to)
