This is a list of explicitly fear driven motivations. It doesn't really make sense to call them motivated reasoning. You might say they are misplaced or even *displaced* from some deeper hidden motivation. But, then what is that deeper motivation?

The motivation is to get to yes on Trump. To do that without admitting your preference, you have to find a way to reject the alternatives as unacceptable.
