Especially as parents across the country struggle to get kids on zoom classrooms and, far worse, as many families learn to live without loved ones who died of this awful virus.

I basically expect politicians to downplay problems, so as not to incite panic. I suspect that tendency is older than the Egyptian Pharoahs. I don't really expect them to admit it, though.

The bleach thing? No. Nobody (who wasn't already bought into OMB) really bought the bleach thing at the time, and honestly I'd forgotten all about it, and I strongly suspect I'm not alone there.

I dont think it was a big deal at all. Trying to keep people from panicking, even inartfully done, was far less an issue nationwide than the Dems public urging of going to restaurants and Chinatown and parades. And the numbers in NY bear that out.

people listening to Trump and watching his Admin actions could figure out there was a real problem. While not very good at the emotional intelligence aspect, trying to keep from a mass panic was actually good. And I could have gotten behind Dems doing the same.

In March he suggested wearing a scarf if you have nothing else and was scolded by the....experts. That probably killed more people in the following weeks/months as the idiot governors who forced retirement homes to take in positive patients.
