Fair enough, although on its face it's a legit point. At a minimum, it looks like pro-life is a low-ish priority. Which is fine, but his point is that on that issue, there is no comparison. You have to conclude that pro-life is less important than other things to such people.

Oh, I'll detract with you on that one. "You're not pro-life if you don't agree to a host of issues that improve life for everyone" has always been a dodge. Pro-life is being against mothers legally killing their babies. Tying govt services is muddying the waters at best.

Sure - but none of that is "pro-life" as we all understand the term, and as the term began. By including them under that term you are tying them together. "Both/and" is different from saying they = "pro-life."

And it's a good point. If you claim to be a pro-lifer, at a minimum you can't yada-yada. You have to explain why voting for a very pro-abortion ticket is justified, and why you still get to claim the mantle of pro-lifer. But it's not an easy task, hence the yada-yada.

Like, someone who's pro-gay-rights has to justify voting GOP - you can't just yada-yada if you want to claim being pro-gay-rights. Abortion is like that only much stronger. They have to say "this is why the GOP isn't bad" or "other issues are more important."

Dan's point is that it's REALLY hard to say the Biden/Harris ticket isn't bad on abortion, and much much worse than the GOP. If you want to say that other issues are more important, that's fine, but that can imperil the claim of being pro-life. Hence the yada-yada.

It's a pro-abortion ticket. You can argue that other things trump that; fine. But you have a duty to own up honestly to making that choice.
