My daughter's former Catholic HS, the Catholic HS my wife teaches at, and her current university (U of Utah) have done good jobs. U of Utah running hybrid classes with kids moving into dorms end of next week.

As a U parent been impressed with administrative competence there. Focus on keeping costs down; calls/emails to administrators get returned promptly. Not surprised they are opening campus in contrast to other Pac-12 schools (doesn't hurt that med school is on main campus)

While the admin is becoming as PC as anywhere, the Mormon influence that mandates governmental competence is alive and well.

this is an example of how my daughter's former HS is communicating to parents https://www.jserra.org/parents-students/coronavirus/covid-plan …

My daughter is a HS freshman, 10 years and counting in a Catholic school, worth every penny. Even when at times I had to work two jobs. We do what we have to do for our kids. Hopefully she will get into

Your obvious apples to apples comparison really works here. The two environments you’re comparing are so similar it’s hard to imagine any reason other than “kids first” making all the difference.

Dan we pulled our 3 kids from public for all these reasons but really, our anger is (partially) mid-directed. Schools aren’t capable of functioning as de facto public health organization. It’s local POLITICIANS who are AWOL in all this. They should be forcing the schools open.
