I'm not there yet on deciding. Frankly, I was pretty close to settling on a third-party protest vote before the Harris pick, which is gravely alarming. But it's not a decision either way to take glibly, or without a thorough, public justification.

And elections *are* a binary choice. It took extreme circumstances in 2016 for me to decide that both choices were equally bad. There *is* an extra level of justification required, if you normally align generally with one side, to doing that.

I would argue you have an obligation as a citizen to encourage others to perform their civic duty to vote, and to vote between the two options available. Your vote may not count, but your commentary could influence others to throw away their votes where it does count.
