Court resizing is literally revocable. Trump sold our nation out to foreign powers, for personal gain. Dictatorships and communist regimes have risen under him. We'll never be as exceptional as we were prior to Trump.

Trump has created and made clear the new rule - a President can do absolutely anything he/she wants, as long as his/her party controls the Senate. Will be the case for both parties from now until forever.

How does the possibility that congress would pass a law changing the number of SC justices - which is entirely permissible and has happened multiple times - threaten our system of government?

Because
@baseballcrank knows that the current GOP policy agenda is so unpopular and even counter- majoritarian that the GOP has to rely on unelected, unaccountable judges to further it. So if the Democrats increase the number of SCOTUS justices, this will hurt the GOP agenda.
