woah, you don't like anything from Steinbeck??

We read his King Arthur in high school English, and he managed to make even that boring.

Favourite: I really liked Julius Caesar, but it's a play not a book... Least Favourite: Profiles in Courage. God, what a horrible book. I was the only person in the class, teacher included, who was able to make it through the whole thing.
-
We read Julius Caesar freshman year, and it was fantastic.

Loved Old Man and the Sea. Couldn't make it past the first 3 pages of Heart of Darkness.
-
Heart of Darkness was a rewarding one to go back to as an adult. Didn't like it in HS.

I remember only one book report in all of grade school, and that was 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. But to this day I do an outline of every serious book that I read. People who can’t do an outline or book report probably can’t even describe what a book is about.
