What do you mean "accept," because it seems to me most Dems think SCOTUS got it wrong but lived with the result just like many conservatives feel Roe was wrongly decided but also live with the result.

Yep. The right wing anti-abortion people definitely didn't resort to violent opposition to abortion rights. Just ask George Tiller.

Governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed. Minority rule (aka taxation without representation) is illegitimate.

John Kerry is the only Democratic nominee to accept defeat since the 1980s. Even then there were people trying to raise a fuss about Ohio.

The Florida 2000 situation was not legitimate, but Gore made a great an almost inhuman sacrifice by ultimately conceding. Trump would spark massive civil unrest in a similar situation. The Michigan capitol AR15 guys would start shooting - at his request.

Gore didn' concede. He fought his case all the way to the Supreme Court and lost. He had nowhere else to go.

Imagine my confusion in 2000...I was deployed for a few months in the Marines with little contact to the outside world...and I get back and find out that there’s a handling chad/Florida controversy...

In the quote you cite in your piece he says he accepts the decision and the outcome. Two sentences beyond your snip he said “I also accept my responsibility, which I will discharge unconditionally, to honor the new President-elect...” I am not sure how many times the man has 1/2

to say “I accept” in his concession speech for you to believe it counts. But I guess it’s more than 3 times per paragraph at least. Really, Dan. He accepted the legitimacy of it ,and that was clear in the speech. 2/2
